A New Chapter for the Coast Salish Youth Coalition
MESSAGE FROM THE COAST SALISH YOUTH COALITION:
We are thrilled to share exciting news - the Coast Salish Youth Coalition (CSYC) has officially become an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit! This milestone allows us to grow our work with even greater impact, guided by a 100% Coast Salish board of directors from Cowichan, Mitchell Bay Band, Samish, Swinomish, Stillaguamish, and Tulalip. As we continue expanding, we look forward to welcoming more voices across Coast Salish territories.
Since our founding, CSYC has been deeply rooted in intertribal collaboration, fostering cultural revitalization, environmental stewardship, and leadership development for Indigenous youth. This transition to an independent nonprofit ensures our programs are built for our people, by our people—reflecting our knowledge, traditions, and priorities with greater authenticity. We are grateful to The Madrona Institute for the many years of support.
Where to Direct Donations Moving Forward: If you would like to continue supporting our mission, please send donations directly to Coast Salish Youth Coalition at our new mailing address, or visit www.coastsalishyouth.org to donate online.
Your generosity has played a crucial role in making this transition possible, and we hope you’ll continue to walk alongside us on this journey. We will continue to revitalize traditions together by providing cultural opportunities for Native youth.
