Join us for the Madrona Institute's third installment of the four-part Climate Solutions Speaker Series in collaboration with Friday Harbor Labs, taking place on Thursday, October 12th at 5:30pm. Join Jay Kimball, San Juan County Climate and Sustainability Advisory Committee, and Vince Dauciunas, OPALCO, to discuss the County’s plan, electric vehicles, resilient energy systems, "Switch it up" program, experimental projects, and more. In addition, we are honored to host an introduction by Sen. Liz Lovelett!

All talks will be free to the community and will be hybrid, held in-person at the Friday Harbor Labs Commons and streamed over Zoom. RSVP is appreciated.

The Madrona Institute and University of Washington Friday Harbor Labs is proud to elevate climate conversations through the 2023 Climate Action Speaker Series. This series will focus not only on identifying the problems but also on presenting viable solutions that span from the federal level to individual households, all aimed at drastically reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

To further minimize carbon emissions associated with travel and foster local community engagement in climate solutions, Lopez Island will host live-streaming events of these speaker series at the Lopez Island Library.
